We founded Hedberg & Howell, LLC with a straightforward mission: to build a law firm from the client’s perspective. Central to this mission was identifying what frustrates clients when working with traditional law firms. At the top of this list is the hourly billing arrangement. Businesses traditionally have two options when shopping for legal services: 1) they can hire a traditional law firm at an hourly fee, or 2) they can hire an in-house attorney. At Hedberg and Howell, LLC we realize neither of these arrangements are often ideal for clients and have created a solution.

It’s as simple as this: Our clients pay us a flat fee, and we handle their legal work. This flat fee could cover a project, a series of projects, an entire month, or even a year. This allows companies to budget their legal expenses, to call their counsel at anytime without watching the clock, and really to enjoy many of the benefits of having an in-house attorney, but on a more flexible basis. For clients who retain us on a monthly or annual basis, we visit their office personally each week. As a result, we become familiar with our clients on a level that most attorneys never will. Some of our clients describe us as their “1099 in-house counsel.”
